It will come as a surprise to most Liverpool fans – and probably most Tottenham fans – to hear that Spurs have ended the Premier League higher than the Reds four times in the last five seasons.
Looking at the clashes between the two clubs individually, however, it doesn’t paint the same picture. What it does paint is a battle scene, and we wouldn’t need the promise of Jurgen Klopp’s first game in charge to be excited about the upcoming match.
A game with Tottenham promises goals and, as of late, three points to Liverpool.
Seventeen goals in the last four matches (15-2 to Liverpool if you were wondering) have seen everything from Flanagan worldies and who cares what else when Flanagan pings a half volley off the cross bar past one of the league’s best keepers.
In the name of fairness though, let’s take a look at what else happened.
