Full-back Ryan McLaughlin has prematurely ended his loan spell at Aberdeen and returns to Liverpool this week.
The 21-year-old made the move north of the border to get more regular first team football but managed to make just a single start for the Scottish side.
With Derek McInnes seemingly reluctant to start McLaughlin, the right-back has decided that it will be more beneficial to him to return to Liverpool and fight for his place.
The Northern Irishman will still be hopeful of being part of Michael O’Neill’s Euro 2016 squad, and a return to Liverpool might improve his chances of being on the plane to France.

With England international Nathaniel Clyne the only fully fit, established right-back at the club, McLaughlin will hope to battle with Connor Randall for the backup role, and will be training at the academy this week, hoping to get a call to train with the first team at Melwood.
Jurgen Klopp has been keen to take a close look at all of Liverpool’s academy players (important to note that the youngster had already been recalled to Melwood by Klopp for closer inspection) and he will be striving to make the most of his opportunity to impress.
