German goalkeeper comments on touted move to Liverpool

1. FC Köln goalkeeper Timo Horn has told his club’s official website that he is fully focused on his current team despite reports linking him with a move to Liverpool, per the Express.

The German became the first-choice stopper at the Bundesliga club in 2012, and according to the Express, he has a release clause of £6m.

Horn, 22, has represented his country at youth level, and has been with 1. FC Köln since his childhood.

Speaking to his club’s official website, Horn dispelled talk of a move to Anfield.

“Jurgen Klopp has already said it all,” he said.

There are no concrete offers and it’s not something I’m worrying myself with.

“I’m a player of FC Koln and am concentrating fully on my task here.”

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has, per the Mirror, backed his current number one ‘keeper Simon Mignolet despite a difficult campaign for the Belgian.

The Reds have been linked, by the Mirror, with a number of potential replacements in recent weeks, and Mignolet is yet to sign a new deal that was reported by the Guardian to be on the table last month.

Adam Bogdan, Mignolet’s deputy, has struggled to provide competition for the former Sunderland man, and looked shaky in his only Premier League start for the Reds at Watford.

Liverpool have signed 17-year-old Polish shot stopper Kamil Grabara for £250,000, but he is set to join the academy rather than the senior side.
