BBC pundit Garth Crooks feels that Liverpool defender Joe Gomez is the closest thing that England have to legendary defender Bobby Moore, speaking to Talksport.
Gomez has been brilliant this season alongside fellow defender Virgil Van Dijk, helping his side to keep three clean sheets from their opening four matches in the Premier League as they sit at the top of the table.
The 21-year-old is proving his quality to Jurgen Klopp’s side this season with a number of impressive performances for the Reds.

Liverpool signed the youngster from Charlton Athletic back in 2015 and was, at first, used as a right-back before a long-term injury saw him miss a large spell last season before returning this season at the heart of the Liverpool defence.
Crooks praised the player when speaking to Talksport and made the comparison between Gomez and Moore:
Three games played and no goals conceded? I thought I was hearing things, but that was the reality going into the game against Leicester City.
Gomez has played in all those games but it was his performance against Leicester that was outstanding.
This player is a must for England, and I am really sorry to have to say this and put so much pressure on the lad, but he is the nearest thing I have seen to Bobby Moore for years.
