PSG manager Thomas Tuchel has named Fabinho as one of the best holding midfielders in the world, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

When speaking about his need for a number six in his team, he listed four holding midfielders who he thinks are the best – with Fabinho being one of them.

Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante, Real Madrid’s Casemiro and Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets were the others.

Fabinho joined Liverpool from Monaco in the summer but is yet to make his competitive debut for the club.

Jurgen Klopp appears to be given Fabinho time to adapt to the way he wants to play in the Premier League, before handing him a chance to impress.

Tuchel has had to move central defender Marquinhos into holding midfield and said this about that decision and Fabinho:

Marquinhos is very different to Giovani (Lo Celso). He has the qualities we are looking for, he is fast and strong in his head.

A player who sacrifices himself willingly is really important. We see that with players like Casemiro, Fabinho, N’Golo Kante and Sergio Busquets, this is what sets this position apart.
