Napoli yet to agree new deal with Liverpool target Zielinski

Liverpool target Piotr Zielinski’s contract negotiations with Napoli are at an impasse, according to a report from Calciomercato.

The Serie A outfit have long been attempting to tie the Poland international down to an extension at the Stadio San Paolo, but it appears they are struggling to agree to the player’s demands.

It’s reported by Calciomercato that Zielinski, whose situation is being monitored closely by Liverpool and Bayern Munich, and his agents are not currently content with the salary and release clause proposed by Napoli.

Zielinski’s current deal in Naples is believed to include a release clause set at €65 million. This is something that president Aurelio De Laurentiis is keen to increase, with a figure of €130 million touted by Calciomercato.

The midfielder’s entourage are understood to be reluctant to agree to these terms, as they seek a higher pay packet for their client, too.

Calciomercato report that Napoli are currently offering Zielinski a salary set at €2.5 million per year, which is €1 million short of what the player’s agents are demanding.

Liverpool appear to be keeping a close eye on Zielinski’s contractual situation at the Serie A club, with the Reds having been perennially linked with a move for the player.
