Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has emphatically denied claims that he has breached The FA’s Betting Rules following a recent charge.
It was revealed on Monday evening that England international Sturridge has been charged with misconduct, with the FA reasoning alleged breaches of their betting regulations.
However, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo, the experienced forward has refuted these claims and denied any wrongdoing. A spokesperson from Liverpool said on behalf of the striker:
Daniel has given his full and unequivocal cooperation throughout this process and has assured the club he will continue to do so. Daniel has also stated categorically that he has never gambled on football.

As with any issue of this nature, we will allow the process to be concluded in its entirety before making any further comment.
Sturridge has time to respond to the FA’s charges and has been advised to do so before Tuesday 20 November if he does wish to.
The 29-year-old striker has made only three starts in all competitions this season but has appeared from the bench on eight occasions.
Sturridge has enjoyed a more involved role under Jurgen Klopp this term and has chipped in with three goals at this early stage.
