Liverpool had 19 players from all over the globe called up to their senior national teams in the past week, playing in different competitions all over the world.
Let’s see how they did for their countries:
Jordan Henderson, Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold
Alexander-Arnold got his first England goal and played the full game in a 3-0 win over USA in a friendly, Wayne Rooney’s last game for the Three Lions.
Henderson came off the bench for Dele Alli in the 58th minute but Gomez was unused in the game – Jesse Lingard and Callum Wilson scored the other goals.
However, he did start and play the full game at centre back in England’s 2-1 victory over Dejan Lovren’s Croatia that sent the Three Lions into the UEFA Nations League finals.
Lingard and Harry Kane scored the goals and Andrej Kramaric scored for Croatia – Henderson was unused due to injury and Alexander-Arnold was an unused sub.
Alisson, Roberto Firmino and Fabinho
Firmino and Alisson played the full game in a 1-0 victory over a friendly against Uruguay with Neymar scoring the goal of that game – Fabinho was an unused substitute.
Firmino played the first half for Brazil with Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus coming on upfront; Ederson was preferred to Alisson in goal and Fabinho again unused.
Everton’s Richarlison scored the goal in a 1-0 victory over Cameroon in a friendly.
Mohamed Salah
Salah scored the 90th-minute winner in Egypt’s 3-2 victory over Tunisia in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying group match.
Mahmoud Hassan and Baher Elmohamady scored the other goals for Egypt and Naim Sliti scored two for Tunisia.
Simon Mignolet and Divock Origi
Mignolet was an unused sub in Belgium’s 2-0 victory over Iceland in the UEFA Nations League – with Michi Batshuayi scoring both the goals.
Origi was called up to replace injured Romelu Lukaku and came on in the 90th minute for Thomas Meunier.
Belgium were defeated 5-2 by Switzerland in the UEFA Nations League with Ricardo Rodriguez, Haris Seferovic (3) and Nico Elvedi scoring for the Swiss.
Thorgan Hazard scored both the goals for Belgium but Switerzland’s mighty comeback seen them through to the finals.
Virgil van Dijk and Georgino Wijnaldum
Wijnaldum scored the opener from close range in Netherland’s 2-0 victory over world champions France – van Dijk played the full game as captain.
Memphis Depay scored a Panenka penalty in the 96th minute and Wijnaldum played 89 minutes behind the striker before being replaced by Toni Vilhena.
Van Dijk was the hero in Netherland’s next game, scoring a 90th-minute winner in a 2-2 draw with Germany that sent them through into the finals.
Wijnaldum played 60 minutes in the game before being replaced again by Vilhena, Timo Werner and Leroy Sane scored for Germany – Quincy Promes scored the other goal for the Netherlands.
Andrew Robertson
Robertson played the full game at left back and won man of the match in a 4-0 win over Albania in the UEFA Nations League – Steven Fletcher, James Forrest (2) and Ryan Fraser scored the goals
Robertson again played the full game at left back in a 3-2 victory over Israel in the UEFA Nations League.
Forrest scored a hattrick for Scotland that earned them promotion – Beram Kayal and Eran Zahavi scored the goals for Israel.
Naby Keita
Keita played the full game for Guinea as they drew 1-1 with Ivory Coast in an Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying match.
Mohamed Yattara scored for Guinea and Jean Michael-Seri scored for Ivory Coast, Guniea have already qualified and still remain top of Group H.
Xherdan Shaqiri
Shaqiri came off the bench for Remo Freuler at halftime in a 1-0 loss to Qatar in a friendly match – Akram Afif scored the goal of that game.
Shaqiri was the star man in Switzerland’s 5-2 victory over Belgium, assisting two of the goals and playing the full match.
The Swiss finished top of group A2 and are through to the finals.
Sadio Mane
Mane played the full game for Senegal in a 1-0 victory over Equatorial Guinea in an Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying game.
Luis Alberto Meseguer Villanueva scored an own goal that Senegal the victory that sent them three points clear of Madagascar in group A.
Ben Woodburn and Harry Wilson
On loan youngsters Woodburn and Wilson were called up for Wales – Wilson came off the bench for Tyler Roberts in the 68th minute in Wales 2-1 defeat to Denmark in the UEFA Nations League.
Gareth Bale got the goal for the Dragons and Nicolai Jorgensen and Martin Braithwaite got the goal for the Danes – Woodburn was an unused substitute.
Wilson started and played the full game in their next match, a 1-0 defeat to Albania in a friendly, Woodburn came off the bench in the 56th minute for Daniel James at left wing.
Caioimhin Kelleher
Kelleher was on the bench for the Republic of Ireland for the first time but was unused in a 0-0 draw with Northern Ireland in a friendly.
He was also an unused sub in their next game a 0-0 draw with Denmark – ROI finished bottom of Group B4.
Liam Millar
Under 23s striker Millar was called up again for Canada and came off the bench or Cardiff’s Junior Hoilett in the 71st minute to play left wing.
Canada beat St Kitts and Nevis 1-0 in the CONCACAF Nations League Qualifying Match with Atiba Hutchinson scoring the goal of the game.
