Henderson heaps praise on rapidly improving Keita

Jordan Henderson has lauded the ability of Naby Keita, saying he is adjusting to life at Liverpool all the time.

Keita arrived from RB Leipzig with a huge reputation last summer, a year after officially agreeing to join the Reds.

It has been a frustrating first season on Merseyside, however, with few influential performances on show and other midfielders often selected ahead of him.

There have been clear signs of improvement in recent weeks, however, not least during an excellent display in the 3-0 win at home to Bournemouth.

Henderson told reporters that settling in at Liverpool can be difficult, but Keita’s vast ability is starting to shine through:

I think everyone can see how good Naby is as a footballer.

As I know myself coming to Liverpool, it’s such a huge club – and especially changing to the Premier League – is tough.

It takes time to adapt. I think he’s done really well in certain games he’s played and I can see him getting used to the way we’re playing and the manager has helped him improve, and I can definitely see the potential you can see coming out of him.

At the same time it takes time to feel right at home, but in the last couple of games you can see the quality that he gives the team and how good he is.

The Guinean could start against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night, as Liverpool host the Bundesliga champions in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

Keita will be hoping it is his first truly influential showing in a big game for the Reds.
