Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson will miss the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals after a late booking against Bayern Munich tonight.
Two minutes into stoppage time, Robertson carelessly caught Leon Goretska as the German dribbled past him and the referee didn’t hesitate to pull his yellow card out.
It comes as a big blow for Jurgen Klopp, but it’s unlikely he’ll dwell on it for too long after watching his side triumph 3-1 at the Allianz Arena, becoming the first English side to win at the stadium.
Sadio Mane scored twice on either side of half-time and Virgil van Dijk added a powerful headed effort to down a dismal Bayern side and send the Reds through to the last eight for a second straight year.
Whichever side Liverpool are pitted against in Friday’s draw, Robertson will be missed and James Milner or Alberto Moreno will be the favourites to replace him.
