Tottenham are reportedly leading the race for Liverpool-linked midfielder Dani Olmo.
According to Spanish outlet AS, cited by the Daily Star, Spurs are making moves for the in-demand Dinamo Zagreb star, with a potential deal costing the London side £27 million.
The 21-year-old, who progressed through Barcelona’s youth system before leaving for Zagreb in 2014, was a standout performer for Spain in the Under 21 European Championships.
The midfielder managed to get himself on the scoresheet as Spain beat Germany 2-1 in the final.
His recent impressive performances for his country alerted the Reds, along with Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United.
However, it appears as if Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who have already signed Jack Clarke and Tanguy Ndombele, are leading the race to sign the creative midfielder.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is open to the possibility of adding to his Champions League winning squad, but it looks as though a possible deal for Olmo could well be one that the German decides not to pursue following the latest reports.
Four stars Liverpool could target
Klopp is thought to be a big admirer of Real Madrid’s Asensio, and a potential move for the Spaniard could materialise in the coming weeks.
RB Leipzig striker Werner has been linked with a Merseyside move for some time, and despite Divock Origi recently signing a new deal, the Reds could be keen on the pacey German who has just 12 months left on his current deal.
Even though he wouldn’t be brought i to replace Andy Robertson, signing Real Betis left-back Firpo would be a big statement of intent by the Reds as they look to bolster their full-back options.
Lille star Pepe has been a name linked with a move to Merseyside all summer, and the Reds could well decide to step up their pursuit of the Ivorian before the window closes.
