Tottenham leading race for Liverpool-linked Olmo
Tottenham are reportedly leading the race for Liverpool-linked midfielder Dani Olmo.
According to Spanish outlet AS, cited by the Daily Star, Spurs are making moves for the in-demand Dinamo Zagreb star, with a potential deal costing the London side £27 million.
The 21-year-old, who progressed through Barcelona’s youth system before leaving for Zagreb in 2014, was a standout performer for Spain in the Under 21 European Championships.
The midfielder managed to get himself on the scoresheet as Spain beat Germany 2-1 in the final.
His recent impressive performances for his country alerted the Reds, along with Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United.
However, it appears as if Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who have already signed Jack Clarke and Tanguy Ndombele, are leading the race to sign the creative midfielder.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is open to the possibility of adding to his Champions League winning squad, but it looks as though a possible deal for Olmo could well be one that the German decides not to pursue following the latest reports.
