Kevin De Bruyne could miss a chunk of action with a groin injury, according to The Athletic’s Sam Lee.
Writing on Twitter, he confirmed that the Manchester City star may be sidelined for a significant spell, although the length of his absence is currently unknown:
De Bruyne has a groin problem, but there’s no accurate diagnosis yet.
City will be doing more tests to find out exactly what the problem is, and how serious (or not serious) it is.

De Bruyne has been an injury-plagued figure during his time in England, so this will be a concern for City.
The Belgian is arguably the Premier League’s best-attacking player on current form, registering assists for fun and generally proving a hugely influential performer.
Although City still managed superbly without De Bruyne for a chunk of last season, he would still be a big loss.
It may be that his absence is only short-term, but any spell out of the team is a boost to Liverpool’s Premier League title chances, not that injury to any player should ever be celebrated.
