It might not have been the biggest moment in the game but there was an incident involving Joel Matip that had Liverpool fans fuming during their 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
At one point in the second half, Man United winger Daniel James went down with an injury but the referee said play on. United never kicked the ball out when they had it, yet when Liverpool retrieved the ball, Joel Matip kicked it out, much to the annoyance of these Reds fans.

Outrageous! De Gea had the chance to boot it out of play but didn’t & United regained possession at least once and never kicked it out, will take me a while to forgive him for that!!

Real Liverpool Verdict
Obviously, the “sub him off and transfer list him” comment is meant in jest, but it’s easy to see why that incident upset Liverpool fans. It’s one of those things in football that will always annoy fans, especially when the opposition have the chance to kick the ball out for their player but choose not to.
In the end, Liverpool didn’t lose the game which may calm down tempers a bit, but Matip might be hearing a word or two from his teammates about that at some point!
