Joe Gomez and Raheem Sterling’s bust-up on England duty has made the headlines, leading to the latter being dropped for the Three Lions’ clash with Montenegro on Thursday.
Tensions were still running high after Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Manchester City at the weekend, and the pair are believed to have come to blows at St George’s Park, having done the same at Anfield.
Sterling has since downplayed the incident on Instagram, but it further highlights the rivalry that has developed between Liverpool and City.
Needless to say, social media was full of reaction after the news emerged – here are the best responses from supporters on Twitter.

At the end of the day, incidents such as these happen all the time – Gomez and Sterling just happen to be playing for the best teams in the Europe, so it was always going to make the news.
The pair have appeared close in the past and this is likely to be something that blows over eventually.
Sterling visibly lost his temper at Anfield and Gomez riling him helped Liverpool get through a tricky end to the game.
The Reds haven’t always mastered the more gritty side of the same under Jurgen Klopp, but it was out in force on Sunday.
