England manager Gareth Southgate has dropped Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling for the upcoming game against Montenegro following a bust-up with Liverpool defender Joe Gomez.

As reported by Paul Joyce of The Times, Sterling confronted Gomez at St. George’s Park following City’s 3-1 defeat at Anfield on Sunday and as a result, he’s been dropped by the England manager.

Gomez and Sterling has a bit of a coming together in the dying minutes of the clash at Anfield at it seems like tensions remained high when the pair met up to represent England, with Sterling reportedly confronting Gomez and asking him if he was “still the big man”.

Southgate should be applauded for dealing with the situation in a very timely manner as these things can cause major issues within a squad if left unresolved.

Sterling looked wound up at Anfield for large parts of the game, as has often been the case for him at that particular stadium and it looks like he let his emotions get the better of him.
