Liverpool need just 33 more points to secure the Premier League title

Manchester City’s 2-2 home draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday means that Pep Guardiola’s side can now only achieve a maximum of 93 points in the Premier League, and that’s provided that they win every game from now until the end of the season.

The same can be said of Leicester City too, although those two sides still have to play each other so there’s no chance that they can both reach the 93 points mark.

With that being the case, it means that Liverpool need just 33 points from their remaining 17 matches to guarantee a first ever Premier League win, and a first top-flight  league win since 1990.

Coincidentally, Liverpool play Man City away in exactly 11 games time, which means that if the Reds can extend their winning run through their next ten games, there’s a chance that they could travel to the Etihad with the opportunity to beat City and win the title at the current champions’ stadium.

Quite frankly, as long as Liverpool win the title, we don’t really care where they are when top spot is guaranteed!

The Reds could still win the title at Goodison Park or the Etihad depending on other results, and either of those would make winning the league just that little bit sweeter, but Liverpool can’t afford to become complacent or too greedy.

They simply need to secure the 33 points they require to become champions and however they get to that point total doesn’t really matter to us!
