Liverpool could be without Mohamed Salah for the start of next season, due to his possible involvement in the Olympics.
According to African Football HQ on Twitter, Egypt Under-23 coach Shawky Gharib will pick Salah as one of his overage players in Japan.
If he goes to Tokyo, it will mean that the 27-year-old will miss pre-season, as well as the early stages of Liverpool’s 2020/21 campaign.

This could be a massive blow for the Reds, with Salah once again leading their scoring charts this season with 18 goals.
The Egyptian superstar is one of the most prolific players in world football and Liverpool having to make do without him will be tough.
On top of that, Salah, along with Sadio Mane, will likely be absent for a period next January and February, due to the Africa Cup of Nations.
This makes reports linking Liverpool with a move for Timo Werner more understandable, considering that Salah likely won’t be fully up to speed until late summer or possibly even early in the autumn.
Salah is irreplaceable, in many ways, scoring 89 goals in 137 appearances for the Reds, but it is vital a new face is brought in to at least partly make up for his absence.
