Liverpool and Chelsea could battle it out to sign Quincy Promes this summer, according to Sport.ru, translated by Sport Witness.
The Ajax winger has been linked with the Reds in the past, but a move has never come to fruition.
They still appear to be interested, however, as do Chelsea, who are allowed to sign players again.
The report claims Ajax will demand at least €40 million for Promes’ services, should he wish to leave at the end of the season.

I think it is essential that Liverpool sign a backup winger this summer, in order to add squad depth and ease Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane’s workload.
On top of that, the African pair will be on Africa Cup of Nations duty next January, which will test the options at Jurgen Klopp’s disposal.
At 28, Promes could arguably be a risk for as much as €40 million, with Klopp more keen on signing players in their early to mid-20s, as Salah and Mane are proof of.
Eleven goals and four assists in 17 Eredivisie appearances this season highlight the Dutchman’s end product, though, so there would be clear positives in Liverpool bringing him to Anfield, in my opinion.
