Liverpool are attempting to poach Real Madrid chief scout Juni Calafat, according to the Telegraph.
Chelsea and Everton are also mentioned as possible suitors in the report, as the La Liga giants look to keep hold of him.
Calafat has received praise for changing Madrid’s recruitment strategy and is highly-rated in his field.
He recently acquired the signature of 18-year-old Brazilian Reinier, after Madrid activated his €30 million release clause at Flamengo, and has also brought in the likes of Martin Odegaard and Vinicius Junior.

Calafat could be another formidable addition to Liverpool’s backroom team, as the Reds continue to thrive both on and off the pitch.
While the players receive the most praise, along with Klopp, we feel as if there are so many pivotal figures pulling their weight behind the scenes, too.
Likes of sporting director Michael Edwards and head of nutrition Mona Nemmer are among those we think are playing a key part in the team’s success – Calafat could only help further, in that respect.
