Pepijn Lijnders has become a hugely influential figure at Liverpool, thriving as Jurgen Klopp’s assistant manager and now fans have been blown away by his incredible piece of skill.
The Dutchman was promoted to the role after returning from a managerial role at NEC Nijmegen in 2018, coming in for the departing Zeljko Buvac.
Lijnders and Klopp’s relationship has flourished since he came back, with Liverpool excelling on the pitch under their tutelage.
While Lijnders is credited for being a great tactician and coach, it also appears as though he is a good footballer, possessing some eye-catching natural ability.
Some footage has emerged from the pre-match warm-up away to Norwich City earlier in the month, when he brings a high ball down with an impudent piece of skill, before the balancing it on his neck:
