Rangers have made an enquiry about the availability of Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster, as the Glasgow-based club would like to take him on loan for the entire 2020/21 season, a source has exclusively told Read Liverpool.

There have been various reports suggesting that Steven Gerrard was showing an interest in taking the 20-year-old to Scotland for the season and we have been told that Rangers have officially approached the player’s representatives to gauge in a potential loan move.

Brewster is still on loan at Swansea, and Liverpool have granted him permission to stay with the Championship side for the remainder of the extended campaign, but it looks like there are already teams thinking about whether they could have him as part of their squad next season.

Swansea are likely to want to keep the forward for next year too as he’s impressed since arriving in Wales in January scoring four goals in 11 Championship appearances, but it looks like the player will have the choice of a move to Scotland if he fancies a year playing European football under the management of Gerrard.

Rangers are keen to stop Celtic winning a tenth-straight league title and it looks like they want Brewster to come in and add more firepower to their attacking options as Gerrard looks to win his first trophy as a manager.
