Liverpool have reportedly made a bid of £54million to Napoli for defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport (translated by the Standard) claim that The Red have made the cut-price offer for the Senegalese defender in a hope of bringing him in to form a defensive partnership with Virgil van Dijk.
Napoli have reportedly been asking for bids of around £80m for the centre-back is it remains to be seen if they’d accept such an offer from the Reds.

Having watched Dejan Lovren really struggle when he came on as a substitute against Everton, there may well be more than a few Liverpool supporters who would like to see their team sign a new defender to join Van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip as part of Liverpool’s defensive options.
Whether The Reds are willing to splash such a fee on Koulibaly remains to be seen but if they are, then getting one of the best defenders in the world for a relatively cheap fee, all things considered, would be a very good deal, especially if Liverpool could help find such a move by selling Lovren.
