Joe Gomez has featured prominently in a list of the fastest players in the Champions League last season.
The 23-year-old has shown signs of returning to top form in the last week or so, performing well against Ajax and Sheffield United.
In the long-term absence of Virgil van Dijk, Gomez is going to be a vital player for Liverpool this season, so Jurgen Klopp needs him at his very best.
On Tuesday, UEFA’s technical report from last season showed Gomez among the quickest players in the Champions League, as revealed by journalist Miguel Delaney on Twitter:

Considering the speed of numerous current Reds players, this really highlights how fast Gomez is.
It is easy to assume that Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane would be ahead of him, but he is electrifying when he hits top gear.
Pace is a key part of Gomez’s armoury, occasionally getting him out of trouble in a positional sense, and it allows Liverpool to play a more risky high line.
