Kevin De Bruyne is a better No.9 than Roberto Firmino, according to talkSPORT presenter Adrian Durham.
Firmino has been one of the most influential players of the Jurgen Klopp era at Liverpool, mastering the ‘false nine’ role and linking beautifully with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Meanwhile, De Bruyne was used there in Man City’s 3-1 win at Chelsea on Sunday, playing superbly.
Speaking on Monday, Durham claimed the City superstar is superior in the role to the Liverpool hero:
Kevin De Bruyne’s a better No.9 than Firmino, I think we’d all agree,” Durham told Drivetime.
I think even Liverpool fans would have to admit that and that must be quite a sobering thought for a lot of Liverpool fans.

This is a lazy opinion from Durham, who is known for being outspoken and wanting to rile supporters of certain clubs.
De Bruyne is a special footballer, but to say he is better than Firmino as a No.9 is nonsensical, considering how long the Liverpool star has excelled in that position.
Durham is judging De Bruyne on one game – if he is superb there for a number of months or even years, a comparison can be made.
Firmino remains vastly underappreciated by too many people, but what he has given this Liverpool team cannot be downplayed, scoring 83 goals and registering 57 assists in 268 appearances.
