Liverpool and Tottenham are both interested in signing Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella, according to Calciomercato.
The 23-year-old’s contract at the Serie A club doesn’t expire until 2024, but the Premier League duo are believed to be monitoring him.
It isn’t specified when Liverpool could look to sign him, but a summer move appears more likely.
Barella only joined Inter Milan last year, having signed on a permanent deal from Cagliari after initially being on loan.

While much focus is on Liverpool making defensive additions in the summer, the midfield may also need freshening up at some point.
Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum are both now 30 years of age, and with the latter potentially heading to Barcelona at the end of the season, a replacement could be needed.
Barella is arguably a more flamboyant player than Wijnaldum, scoring twice and registering five assists in Serie A this season, but an average of 1.9 tackles per match also suggests he can excel in the less attractive aspects of the game.
