Liverpool remain ‘in the picture’ for the signing of Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland, according to a report from Eurosport.
Whilst the report claimed that Chelsea as the leading contenders to land the 20-year-old, the Reds continue to ‘monitor the situation’ along with Premier League rivals Manchester City and Manchester United, as well as Real Madrid.
Haaland is a much sought-after talent, and with a €75m (£64.55m) release clause becoming active in the summer of 2022, there is plenty of speculation over where his future may lie.
Should Dortmund fail to qualify for the Champions League next season, Eurosport suggested that the Norwegian goal machine could leave Germany at the of this campaign.
Since landing in the Bundesliga from Red Bull Salzburg last year, Haaland has gone from strength to strength and currently sits on an astonishing 27 goals in 25 appearances this season across all competitions.

As statements of intent go, signing Haaland is among the biggest that any club could make at the moment. Just 20, the Leeds-born wonderkid truly has the world at his prolific feet and has already surged to seventh in the list of most valuable players in the world at £99m, according to Transfermarkt – the youngest to do so among his peers.
As Jurgen Klopp potentially looks to reinvent the wheel this summer, utilising a focal point forward and moving away from the false nine setup which has served him so well, there is perhaps no better candidate than Haaland.
Klopp should use any credit he may have in the bank with his former employers to make this deal a reality.
