Liverpool release new 2021/22 home kit confirming previous leaks

This morning saw Liverpool release their new home kit for the 2021/22 season.

Following Nike’s first season as the club’s kit manufacturer this campaign, the company has delivered their next take.

There are plenty of changes from this seasons kit and the next, most notably the all Red approach for next season.

The club’s Twitter account posted a promotional video this morning debuting the new home strip…

This seasons white and green collar and cuff details have been dropped in favour of a vibrant red/orange.

As well as this, the kit features an interesting asymmetrical diagonal pinstripe detail on the front.

The release confirmed the accuracy of previous rumours over next seasons kits.

It is being reported that the club will be debuting the new home kit against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

To see an almost all-red home kit again is a nice touch from Nike and the club.

It gives a nod back to the kits of the 1960s which saw Liverpool turn out in all-red before the white collar was introduced.

One aspect of the kit that may not go down well with the fans is the line details and the cuffs and collar.

Despite being described as an all-red kit, the collar and cuffs look more orange than red.

As well as that, the line details are almost zig-zag diagonally across the face of the kit.

The kit definitely takes more of a youthful an modern approach rather than a big nod to heritage.

It seems as though Nike and the club have taken the concept of the kits of the 60’s and added that modern twist.

However, I am a big fan and I’m looking forward to seeing the kit in the flesh, as they always look better on the players than in the pictures.
