Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has made history after his headed injury-time winner against West Brom outfit was voted Liverpool’s goal of the season for the 2020/21 campaign.
Beating off competition almost exclusively from Mohamed Salah – the Brazilian number one is the first ‘keeper to be given the award after clinching all three points in a pivotal away clash with Sam Allardyce’s side.
Encouraged by John Achterberg to join his teammates for the Reds’ final corner of the game at the Hawthorns with the score at 1-1, the 28-year-old leapt with the freedom of the penalty area before guiding a remarkable header beyond his helpless opposite number.
The stoppers effort was met with jubilation and unsurprisingly Kopites voted the header as their goal of the season, as reported by the club’s official website and cited, along with the other contenders, on the official Twitter account.

Not only did the 45-cap Brazil star become the first goalkeeper to score for the Anfield club – but also the moment turned the entire tide of Liverpool’s season and helped secure a third-place Premier League finish.
Remarkably, six of the top 10 goals belong to Salah – with youngster Mateusz Musialowski, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool women star Rinsola Babajide making up the list.
