Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold was forced off with an injury during England’s 1-0 friendly victory against Austria on Wednesday night.
The 22-year-old was named in Gareth Southgate’s starting XI after much conjecture as to whether the full-back would be named in the squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 competition.
But just 24 hours after his inclusion, the Scouse defender could be heard screaming after clearing the ball – casting doubt over his chances of representing the Three Lions in the major tournament.

Southgate admitted after the match to Sky Sports that thing didn’t look good for the ace: “We’ve got to see, it’s obviously not a good sign that he’s had to walk off the pitch, and he was in some discomfort.”
Overall it was a mixed night for Reds on international duty as fellow right-back Neco Williams was harshly dismissed for handball in Wales’ 3-0 defeat at the hands of World champions France.
Meanwhile, there were better fortunes for Scotland captain Andy Robertson as the 27-year-old assisted the second goal in a 2-2 draw with a highly fancied Netherlands side.

If Alexander-Arnold’s international summer is indeed over, Liverpool will want the star back on Merseyside and recuperating as soon as possible.
Clearly distraught at picking up the injury, Kopites, Jurgen Klopp and the ace himself will wait with bated breath over the next 24 hours to discover the extent.
Perhaps the only saving grace could be that the injury has come so early in the break, giving the marauding full-back plenty of time to get fit for pre-season.
