The Reds got their fixture schedule underway on Tuesday against FC Wacker Innsbruck and VfB Stuttgart with two 30-minutes clashes.
Klopp named two entirely different lineups for the two matches and there was a notable debutant in the first side.

As the Reds ran out, Davies was momentarily held up by Klopp for an embrace that seemed to signal the end to a long wait for the English defender.

Davies partnered Joel Matip in central defence for the meeting with Austrian second-tier side Wacker Innsbruck.
Belgian striker Divock Origi opened the scoring for the Reds before Ronivaldo levelled the shortened clash with a back-post header.

This is just another example of the German manager fully understanding the moment when it comes to his players.
The magnitude of finally making a debut for the club clearly wasn’t lost on Klopp or Davies and the boss made sure the 25-year-old went out totally relaxed over the prospect.
Whether it’s the start of a successful career at Anfield remains to be seen as doubts hang over the ace’s future.
In the meantime, Davies will hope to feature on Friday when the Reds face Mainz 05.
