The summer transfer window has been filled with rumours over Liverpool’s potential business.
One position that needs to be addressed this season is in midfield after Georginio Wijnaldum’s departure.
The Dutchman left the Reds for PSG at the start of July, leaving a huge void in the Reds’ squad.
With that comes a number of links to other midfielders such as Renato Sanches and Youri Tielemans to name a few.
However, the latest player that has been linked with the club comes in the form of AS Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni.
According to Corriere dello Sport, via the Liverpool Echo, the Reds are interested in the young Frenchman.
At just 21-years-old, Tchouameni has impressed Monaco since joining from Bordeaux at the start of 2020.
The report suggests that Italian giants Juventus are also interested but it is just speculation as of yet.
Corriere dello Sport goes into depth about Tchouameni’s playing style with many of his attributes similar to Sanches.
Himself and the Portuguese international share a similar stature and skillset, which makes sense as to why Liverpool has been linked.
AS Monaco currently value the 21-year-old at €30million (£25.2million) and the Reds are apparently open to the fee.
It is unknown as to whether he has the capability to outwardly replace Wijnaldum, but he certainly is talented.
Liverpool making a move for the player is unlikely and with the window close to closing it is likely just a rumour.
However, he is certainly a player that the club would look to target and there is a chance this could be an ongoing link.
