The summer transfer window is close to an end, with just under a week left for clubs to complete their business.
As of now, the Reds have only signed one new addition to the squad in the form of Ibrahima Konaté.
It is clear the club has a fantastic squad in their possession with plenty of quality players at their disposal.
However, new additions to make up for the lost quality have not yet been addressed, namely a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum.
The Dutchman left the Reds for PSG on a free transfer this summer and has left quite the void in midfield.
Despite now new faces since Konaté, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano is adamant the club could sign new players.
Speaking on his Here We Go podcast, Romano said that new signings could arrive if the Reds find the right opportunity…
As cited by Anfield Watch above, according to Romano, the Reds are still active in the market.
Of course, his comments do differ from what the club and Jurgen Klopp are saying in regards to the club’s activity.
However, it is unlikely that Klopp would let slip the club’s ambitions in the market as he often stays tight-lipped.
It certainly excites fans to hear that an insider such as Romano still believes the club could sign more players.
This solely depends on the opportunities that may arrive before the end of the week.
Hopefully, there will be some further activity from the club to improve the quality of the squad’s depth.
One thing for sure is that the Reds have a world-class starting XI but their depth is far from that.
It is difficult to compete with the financial power of other Premier League clubs such as Man City and Chelsea.
Despite that, the Reds have a fantastic reputation and can easily attract Europe’s elite alongside the aforementioned clubs.
