Liverpool’s summer transfer window may have been quieter than hoped, but the club still added a fantastic addition.
Early on in the window, the club confirmed the signing of French centre-back Ibrahima Konaté from RB Leipzig.
Last season saw the club cry out for defensive depth and this season they already look much stronger at the back.
Academy graduate Nathaniel Phillips came to the Reds’ rescue at times last season with some great performances.
In a recent interview, Phillips was asked his thoughts on how new-boy Konaté has adapted over the last few months.
According to Phillips, the £36million signing has slotted in perfectly, with him looking closer to his Premier League debut…
As cited by Anfield Watch above, Konaté has been ready to learn and improve over the last few months.
It is great to hear that Konaté has already adapted so well to life at Liverpool given the short amount of time.
It was obvious the club had signed a talented youngster despite his injury troubles in Germany.
However, recently the 22-year-old has been in peak condition and impressed during his pre-season showings.
Konaté is yet to make his Premier League debut for the club, with him only featuring on the bench.
His time will no doubt come soon, especially if he is fitting in as well as Phillips states in his interview.
There is no denying that Liverpool fans will be excited to see him in action sooner rather than later.
