Liverpool have been made to sweat yet further over the fitness of attacking midfielder Curtis Jones.
The 20-year-old is currently away on international duty with England Under 21s but is yet to feature for the Young Lions.
Ahead of a UEFA U21 Championship Qualifier against Andorra in the Pyrenees, former Everton midfielder turned England national youth team coach Lee Carsley has updated supporters over Jones’ situation.
The 47-year-old went on to say: “We won’t be taking any risks and putting the players at risk of potentially them missing their games for the weekend. So we’ll assess Curtis this morning and make that decision a bit later.”
Prior to the international break and subsequent injury worry, Jones had been in superb form for the Reds.

Already without Brazilian duo Alisson and Fabinho for the trip to Watford, the German would’ve been hoping for a clean bill of health from all those away from Merseyside.
Should the young midfielder indeed be absent for the weekend’s Premier League meeting, the likes of Naby Keita, James Milner and perhaps a returning to fitness Thiago would be in line to feature.
Given the reassuring no ‘risk’ claim from Carsley, Jones’ non-participation in Andorra seems inevitable but may not rule the starlet out of contention for a third consecutive league start.
