Virals: Jurgen Klopp confirms plan for international Brazilian duo

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Alisson Becker and Fabinho will miss the trip to Watford this weekend.

The Reds’ boss stated that the Brazilian duo will instead travel straight to Spain in order to feature against Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

Fabinho played 71 minutes for Brazil as the Samba nation beat Uruguay 4-1 overnight, whilst Alisson was an unused substitute having featured earlier in the break.

Speaking during a pre-match press conference, as cited by James Pearce on Twitter, Klopp confirmed the plan.

Klopp also admitted that Thiago would be unavailable for the clash at Vicarage Road due to a calf problem. Meanwhile, both Diogo Jota and Trent Alexander-Arnold will be up for selection.

There was however another blow for the Reds as the German manager clarified that the £27million valued Curtis Jones is out due to a problem picked up on international duty.

Liverpool will be hoping to remain unbeaten across all competitions and go back to the summit of the Premier League.

Given the incredibly complicated circumstances, albeit not the ideal scenario, this is perhaps the best solution.

Kopites will hope both Brazilian’s can return to the UK in time for a crunch clash at arch-rivals Manchester United next Sunday.

In the meantime, the availability of Jota and Alexander-Arnold gives Klopp options across the park once again and James Milner could be moved back into midfield.
