Liverpool reportedly placed a record-breaking bid for Italy forward Federico Chiesa this summer.
The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for the Juventus loanee in recent months and the speculation hasn’t yet subsided.
Arguably the star performer as the Azzurri lifted the European Championship trophy, Chiesa is a man in demand.
According to a report from Italian newspaper Il Giornale, as cited by Liverpool FC News on Twitter, Liverpool attempting to break their transfer record to land the 23-year-old.
The report claims that Juventus rejected all forthcoming bids as their current stance is to keep the 35-cap ace at all costs.
Due to sign for the Old Lady on a permanent basis for €40million (£36million) at the end of this season, Liverpool and others could reignite their interest in 2022.
So far this season Chiesa, who was described as ‘potent’ by Rio Ferdinand, has scored twice and provided one assist in seven appearances.

Signing additional attacking options could be the next and most important phase of the evolution at Anfield.
Already well-stocked with talented youngsters in midfield and defensive departments, long-term replacements for Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino in particular look to be important next decisions.
Given the relative lack of spending at Liverpool during the summer, suggestions of an attempt to splash out £84million in record expenditure on one player seem farfetched.
Valued at £63million (Transfermarkt), Chiesa is an extensive target for the Reds, but one with all the quality and credentials to thrive in Jurgen Klopp’s side.
