Former Scotland striker Frank McAvennie has been praising the continued form of Liverpool ace Andy Robertson.
The 27-year-old has been a revelation ever since arriving on Merseyside for an initial £8million from Hull City in 2017 (BBC).
The marauding left-back has played a huge part as Jurgen Klopp’s side lifted the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup during his time at Anfield.
Speaking to Football Insider, McAvennie was in are of Robertson’s ability.
I feel like he’s gone a bit under the radar recently. People will call me biased and I get that but Andy Robertson, what a player. He just hasn’t stopped ever since he signed for Liverpool. Is he the best left-back in the world? Probably. It’s such a pain that Scotland’s two best players are both left-backs because Tierney is brilliant as well. But Robertson, this season, has been on another level. What a bargain signing he’s been. Liverpool are such a good unit and he’s a big part of that. He might not get the headlines but he’s one of those players who is every bit as important as the Mo Salahs of the team.
So far this season Robertson has registered one assist in six Premier League outings – earning a 7.08 Sofascore rating in the process.

Both full-backs have such integral roles in the way Klopp’s side operates.
As much of an attacking threat as a defensive operator, Robertson has directly contributed to 44 goals in 187 Liverpool appearances.
Whilst his performances may well go under the radar from time to time, there can be no doubt that the £58.8million valued ace’s impact is hugely appreciated by Kopites.
