Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher was left in awe of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s display against Atletico Madrid.
The 22-year-old provided the assist for both goals as the Reds cruised through what was a difficult group on paper with two games to spare.
Alexander-Arnold delivered a pinpoint cross for Diogo Jota to nod home the opener before the Scouse right-back found Sadio Mane in the area to double the lead.
Speaking on CBS Sports on Paramount+ (03/11/21 at 10:00 pm), Carragher was full of praise for the marauding full-back.
It was a tough start to the game really. Atletico put Liverpool under pressure. But that man there Trent Alexander Arnold, one of the best right foots in world football. It’s Jota who gets the goal. This (second goal) isn’t so much of an assist, but he will get the assist. Trent, he’s trying to have a cross-shot. And it’s a really good finish (from Mane) to let it roll it across onto the left foot.
The West Derby born prodigy earned an outstanding 8.40 Sofascore rating at Anfield as he produced two interceptions, three tackles and four key passes to add to the two assists.
So far this season the 14-times capped star has provided six assists in 11 appearances across all competitions.

Another stellar performance from someone still so young.
Jurgen Klopp utilises Alexander-Arnold so impressively from an attacking right-back position and when on top form, the delivery is simply undefendable for opposition sides.
As the international break looms, it remains to be seen whether the £67.5million valued Liverpool man will earn an England call having been left out in recent times. Although, Kopites will likely hope that trend continues.
