Virals: Liverpool welcome new signing Luis Diaz on busy first day

Liverpool welcomed new signing Luis Diaz to the club on what was a busy first day for the Colombian forward.

Introduced to manager Jurgen Klopp and assistant boss Pep Lijnders having flown in from Paris, the 25-year-old faced a day of interviews, dancing and ultimately training.

Earlier in the day, Klopp had suggested the left-winger could feature against Cardiff City in the FA Cup fourth round.

Having met new teammates and coaches alike, Diaz admitted the opportunity to join the Reds was one that couldn’t be ignored before carrying out an individual session at the AXA Training Centre on Merseyside.

Meanwhile, an ex-Anfield favourite is facing a more low-key departure as Xherdan Shaqiri reportedly heads out of Lyon just months after joining.

Signed for an initial €6million (Eurosport), Shaqiri is believed to be on the ‘verge’ of making a move to MLS side Chicago Fire just 16 appearances into a career in France.

The 30-year-old made 63 outings for the Reds in a three-year spell at the club.

How much did we all enjoy that Diaz content?

Now we wait to see whether the exciting Colombian will feature as Klopp welcomes back the likes of Thiago, Divock Origi, Naby Keita and Harvey Elliott to the fold for the FA Cup.

As for Shaqiri, both he and Gini Wijnaldum have seemingly endured torrid spells so far in France and hopefully, the move can reignite the Swiss star to perform to a similar level to that glorious cameo against Manchester United in 2018.
