Liverpool have been heavily linked with Youri Tielemans in recent times and any hopes of signing the midfielder look to have been handed a major double boost.
The Reds are seemingly long-time admirers of the 24-year-old but face serious competition from Arsenal and Manchester United for the Leicester City ace.
A report from Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad has claimed that the Foxes are willing to ‘slash’ the asking price for Tielemans to between £34-46million.
Furthermore, reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Belgium international is unwilling to sign a new deal at the Midlands club.
I’ve been told Youri Tielemans will NOT extend his contract with Leicester. New deal bid has been turned down – current one expires in 2023. 🔵 #LCFC
Of course Youri will be professional, he’s focused on Leicester. Many top clubs want him for June.

The 47-cap star has earned an impressive 7.15 average Sofascore rating this season in 17 Premier League outings – including one from the bench against Liverpool this week.
Overall, the man once described as a ‘fantastic player’ by Emile Heskey has scored six times and provided three assists in 27 appearances this term.
READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT
Valued at £49.5million and out of contract in 2023 (Transfermarkt), signing Tielemans for the new mooted fee this summer would represent a superb piece of business.
Already boasting 105 English top-flight outings as well as an eye for the spectacular on the big stage, the Belgian would be an excellent addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Albeit the Reds may no longer be the main protagonist in the chase, capable of operating as a box to box midfielder as well as in the holding role, Liverpool should be reigniting their interest at a reduced fee.
With Klopp discussing the sell-to-buy mantra at Anfield in-depth, any move for Tielemans could easily be supplemented by the sale of fringe players this summer.
