Liverpool are reported to be ‘closely following’ Atletico Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente ahead of a potential summer swoop.
The 27-year-old ace was the thorn in Jurgen Klopp’s side as the current La Liga champions eliminated the Reds from the UEFA Champions League in 2019/20.
Now, it’s believed that the German coach wants to add the versatile Spaniard to the Anfield ranks.
That’s according to a report from Fichajes, as cited by TEAMtalk on Twitter.

The report claims that Klopp is ‘very interested’ in the 12-cap star and the Reds ‘have him on the agenda’ for an end of season move.
So far this term Llorente – described as a ‘hugely intelligent’ footballer – has provided three assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.

Valued at £54million and under contract at the Wanda Metropolitano until 2027 (Transfermarkt), signing the Spaniard would likely be an expensive venture.
However, the report states that Atletico may look to cash in on a number of stars this summer and Llorente could be allowed to leave.
Capable of playing in various midfield positions and at right-back, as well as possessing a range of outstanding attributes, it’s clear to see why Klopp would be interested in adding the former Real Madrid man to the ranks.
Having already named his dog ‘Anfield’ following those European exploits, the move could be an easy one to envisage.
