- Archie Gray has emerged as a transfer target for Liverpool
- Sources have revealed the latest on the Tottenham ace
- Two other exciting talents have emerged on the Reds’ radar
Liverpool are interested in signing Archie Gray from Tottenham, especially if Spurs suffer relegation from the Premier League.
The Reds sit fifth in the Premier League with five games left to play, sitting five points above sixth-placed Brighton, who have played a match more.
That means Arne Slot’s side are well on course to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, thus allowing them to look ahead to next season already.
The team’s lacklustre performances this season have exposed the shortcomings in the squad, and there is an expectation that they will make a few new additions this summer.
Liverpool want Gray from Tottenham
The Merseyside-based club are likely to be at the front of the queue to take advantage of Tottenham if they drop down to the Championship this season.
Spurs are currently in the drop zone, as they sit 18th in the table – two points behind West Ham United in 17th place.
According to Daily Mail sources, Gray to Liverpool could be a transfer to watch out for if the North London outfit fail to avoid relegation.
Apart from the England Under-21 international, the six-time European champions are also interested in AZ Alkmaar’s Kees Smit and Hoffenheim’s Bazoumana Toure, as they look to inject more young blood into the team.

Gray would not be a signing that turns heads, but it would certainly be a smart piece of business.
At 20, the midfielder has pretty much his whole career ahead of him, while his status as a homegrown player is also attractive.
Furthermore, Gray’s versatility is admirable. He has played in several positions, including central midfield and right-back, this season.
Given Liverpool’s own issues at right-back, that is certainly something Slot would appreciate.
Let us also not forget that the Anfield outfit have had great success when signing players from relegated teams.
Georginio Wijnaldum and Andy Robertson notably joined the six-time European champions after going down with Newcastle and Hull City, respectively.
Gray could be the latest player in line to move to Liverpool after suffering relegation and go on to have a successful career as a Red.
However, there are no guarantees that Spurs will go down this season. Even with all their struggles, one would expect them to somehow survive the drop.
