Liverpool FC News Today: Mohamed Salah decides next club; Third Reds star set for summer exit

Arne Slot’s trusted man could be set for a Liverpool exit this summer, as an Eredivisie side plot move. A third Reds star might be heading out of Anfield along with Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson.

The Reds are set to have their Premier League game rescheduled, but there could be more changes. There is some heartbreaking news coming the way of Liverpool fans soon, as Salah is set to announce his next club.

1 – Arne Slot’s assistant set for Liverpool exit

Giovanni van Bronckhorst was a new member of Slot’s backroom staff at Liverpool, but he could be on the verge of leaving this summer. Feyenoord are keeping tabs on the Dutchman as they look to fill the vacant technical director position at De Kuip.

The Daily Mail report that Van Bronckhorst, who replaced John Heitinga, is open to the switch. The Eredivisie side are yet to make a final decision, but are pushing to get him to join them ahead of the summer window.

2 – Aston Villa vs Liverpool rescheduled (for now)

Liverpool’s trip to Villa Park has been selected for live television and has been scheduled for Sunday, May 17, at 12:30 pm. However, there are more changes expected if Aston Villa make it to the UEFA Europa League final.

The Premier League game could be rescheduled again if Aston Villa beat Nottingham Forest in the semifinal. The two Premier League sides face off this week and next, and if the Villa Park side progress, the Liverpool game will be moved to Friday, May 15.

3 – Has Mohamed Salah played his last Liverpool game?

Salah went down injured in the second half of the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace and has reportedly suffered a hamstring injury. An official statement is yet to be released by Liverpool, but Alan Shearer believes the winger’s reaction said he was going to be out for some time.

“You could tell with Mo’s reaction, couldn’t you? The way he sort of was applauding the crowd when he went off, you suspect, I hope not, but you suspect that could be his last game. It felt like his last game because you know what it’s like when he had a hammy injury.”

The Reds set him for scans soon after the injury, and an Egypt official has said that the winger will be out for 4 weeks.

4 – Another Liverpool player set for exit?

Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson have announced their exits from Liverpool this summer, and now Curtis Jones is also considering leaving the club. The Englishman is entering the final year of his deal, and no talks over a new contract have progressed.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that several clubs are keeping tabs on the midfielder ahead of the summer window. Inter Milan are chasing the Liverpool star, while Premier League sides are also interested.

5 – Mohamed Salah set to announce new club

Mohamed Salah has already confirmed that he will be leaving Anfield this summer, while his agent revealed that they had not held talks with any side. Things seem to have changed around a month after the decision, as an Egyptian national team staff member has said that the announcement is happening soon.

Several European sides are interested in the winger, and Muhammad Murad, the media coordinator for the Egyptian national team, has hinted that the 33-year-old will be staying in Europe. Saudi Pro League clubs are also keeping tabs and are waiting for his final decision.
