- Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool still want Bradley Barcola this summer
- French international likely to leave PSG this summer
- Ligue 1 giants set to sign Yan Diomande ahead of Liverpool
Liverpool were dealt a massive transfer blow yesterday as various reliable reports confirmed that Yan Diomande prefers a move to PSG.
The Ivorian was a primary target for the Reds, who remain on the lookout for a right winger to replace the legendary Mohamed Salah.
Bradley Barcola has been linked with a move to Liverpool, with the French international currently playing a starring role for Didier Deschamps at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
And now, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on his future that will come as music to the ears of the Anfield faithful.
Liverpool very much in the hunt for Barcola
Barcola has been a key player for PSG, who has won successive league and UEFA Champions League doubles over the past two seasons under Luis Enrique.
Despite featuring regularly, the Frenchman isn’t a guaranteed starter for the Parisians.
Enrique is spoilt for choice in attack, with the likes of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue usually getting the nod ahead of Barcola.
Diomande – who now looks set for the French capital – would also be ahead of him in the pecking order as PSG wouldn’t sign a player in excess of €100m to keep him on the bench.
In the light of recent events, Romano confirms that Liverpool are well in the hunt for Barcola, with the Reds’ interest dating back to 2025.
PSG also want to sign Magnes Akliouche, whose potential arrival could push Barcola closer to the exit.
A dream signing for Liverpool
Barcola is primarily a left-winger, but his versatility and devastating pace allow him to play anywhere across the front line.
Standing over six feet tall, the Frenchman doesn’t boast a typical build of a winger with a low centre of gravity. However, he has all the tools to cope with the physicality of the Premier League and deserves to play for a team where he can start week in, week out.
The Reds have already signed Victor Munoz, but the Spaniard is expected to be a versatile squad option as opposed to a guaranteed starter.
Barcola, on the other hand, if signed, would slot straight into Andoni Iraola’s starting XI.
And after the Reds missed out on Diomande, don’t be surprised to see them quickly turn their focus to the PSG attacker, who looks likely to leave the club this summer in search of regular game time.
