Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson have starred in a must-watch video for BT Sport, in which they are interviewed by former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand.
The pair have been key components of the Jurgen Klopp era at Anfield, with some regarding them as the best in the world in their respective positions.
Alexander-Arnold has come through Liverpool’s academy to become the Reds’ undisputed first-choice right-back, producing outrageous quality on the ball, culminating in 35 assists already for his boyhood club.
Meanwhile, Robertson has grown hugely since arriving from Hull City 2017, proving to be not far behind Alexander-Arnold with his end product – he has 32 assists – and arguably superior in a defensive sense.
Alexander-Arnold and Robertson almost come as a pair, not only because of their reputation as flamboyant full-backs, but also because they are close friends off the pitch.
This fascinating interview with Ferdinand sums up why they have got to the level they have, as they discuss various aspects of their time together at Liverpool, over the course of 20-odd minutes:
Klopp likely wouldn’t swap Alexander-Arnold or Robertson for any other full-back in world football – hopefully, they are here to stay for a long time yet.
