Arsenal could be without Bellerin for Saturday’s tie against the Reds

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has said that he is unsure whether Hector Bellerin will feature in Saturday’s game against Liverpool.

The Spanish defender was forced off at the interval during Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon, with Stephan Lichtsteiner called on to replace him.

Emery, as quoted by Arsenal’s official club website following the draw, discussed Bellerin’s injury. The manager stated that the problem is muscular, but was unsure regarding the extent of the right-back’s injury.

The Gunners boss said:

Yes, he’s injured. I hope it’s not a big injury, but he had muscular pains. I don’t know [whether he’s a doubt for the Liverpool game next Saturday].

Bellerin has been an important player for Emery this season and has emerged as his first-choice option on the right-hand side of the defence, and will be a huge miss for the Gunners if he becomes unavailable for their tie against the Reds.
