The president of Sampdoria, Massimo Ferrero, has revealed the cost that is needed to prise Mario Balotelli away from Anfield.
The Italian club have been linked with Balotelli, who scored just once in the Premier League last term, and Bruce Archer of The Express reports that Liverpool are looking to move him on, despite the fact that he arrived on Merseyside only last season,
“Mario Balotelli costs €10m, but with a discount we await him with open arms.”
That’s the word from Sampdoria’s Ferrero, which confirms that the Reds are willing to take a loss on Balotelli, after forking out £16m for him just 12 months ago.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has also spoken on the future of the 24-year old.
“Mario is obviously not on tour but working hard and training well with a number of other players at Melwood.”
However, the manager has made it very clear that even he is not sure whether Balotelli will be wearing red, going into the 2015/16 campaign.
“I’m not sure, that will entirely be up to Mario.”
“He is working hard to get fit and we will see when the season begins.”
