Buvac finally departs Liverpool after not working since April

Zeljko Buvac has left Liverpool after the club reached an agreement for Jurgen Klopp’s former number 2 to leave Anfield.

Buvac has not worked since April due to “personal reasons”, leaving the Reds just before the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final against Roma.

Liverpool have finally negotiated the 57-year-old’s exit from the Reds, and Buvac will now leave Melwood and Anfield.

The former Dortmund assistant followed Klopp to Liverpool, and had a 17-year association with the German boss.

Pep Ljinders had been the “replacement” for Buvac, and is now expected to take over the assistant manager’s role officially.

Klopp has refused to speak about the reasonings for Buvac’s departure, but the Liverpool Echo report that the German became very distant from his former assistant during the lead up to his departure from the Reds.

Liverpool have done well without Buvac, and sit top of the Premier League table.
