Cakir feels more confident after being linked with Liverpool

Liverpool transfer target Ugurcan Cakir has claimed that being linked with a move to Anfield has boosted his confidence.

Cakir also says that he does not pay too much attention to reports, but feels as though he has been given a lift by the links.

As quoted by the Liverpool Echo, he said this:

This situation gives me a lot of confidence but to be honest, I’m not paying too much attention to that. I believe this increased confidence can be seen in my game.

To be linked with a move to Liverpool is a good thing but I am totally focused on Trabzonspor’s success this season.

If the reports are to be believed and Liverpool are interested in the Turkish shot-stopper, it would indicate that the club would like to replace Adrian in the coming transfer windows. Alisson is the undisputed number one and was recently named as the best goalkeeper in the world, which would make replacing him virtually out of the question.

Adrian, on the other hand, was culpable for a number of goals during his stint in the team whilst Alisson was out injured. The Spaniard’s distribution from the back caused plenty of issues, with the biggest error coming when he kicked the ball straight at Southampton forward Danny Ings in a win over the Saints – but it was almost very costly.

If Liverpool could bring Cakir to the club, he could come in and provide stronger competition to Alisson and allow Liverpool to rest the Brazilian in other competitions when needed.
