The Daily Mail report that England Under-19s head coach Aidy Boothroyd is happy for Jurgen Klopp to give him a call so he can explain his decision to select Liverpool youngster Jordan Rossiter for a trio of European Championship qualifying matches that took place within six days.
New Liverpool boss Klopp was left seething after Rossiter, 18, returned to Melwood nursing a hamstring injury picked up during his gruelling schedule on international duty.
Demanding answers from the Football Association, the furious Klopp blasted:
Rossiter is a special story, I would say. I’ve never heard that a player so young plays three games in six days. That was the problem. That’s why he got injured. These young players are our future, if we handle them like horses then we get horses. We want them to improve.
The Scouse midfielder is the centrepiece of England’s Under-19 team and with Boothroyd’s side requiring points to increase their seeding for the upcoming Championships, the former Watford manager opted to field the influential Liverpool starlet for the duration of their three 90 minute games.

The industrious Rossiter played a key role as the young Three Lions progressed to the elite qualifying rounds of the UEFA European Championships by beating Macedonia and Finland before holding Italy to a 0-0 draw.
Boothroyd insists that the Merseyside club were well aware of his intentions to field Rossiter in the qualifiers and claims that he maintained regular dialogue with Liverpool’s Academy director Alex Inglethorpe during the international break.
Rossiter is expected to miss up to a month of action through injury and is unlikely to be available selection until after November’s international break.
